Golden Ear: Sound Explorer (“the app”) is developed by Chun-Yeol You (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app has no account system, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party advertising (the only promotion in the app is for the developer’s own desktop plugin and sample packs). Everything the app remembers stays on your device.
The app keeps a small settings file in the app’s own private storage on your device (not accessible to other apps, not backed up to any server we control):
None of this is linked to your name, email address, device identifier, or any other personal information, because the app never asks for any of those in the first place.
The only network activity the app can trigger is opening your device’s web browser when you tap one of a small number of links inside the app: the “Use these sounds in your music” / “as sample files (SFZ/SF2)” buttons on the Home and Free Play screens (which take you to one of several Gumroad product pages, mirryouser.gumroad.com, depending on which instrument or pack the link is for), and the “Help” button (which opens our Android app guide, hosted at mirryou-maker.github.io). Those pages are operated by Gumroad or by GitHub Pages, not by us, and are subject to their own privacy policies once you leave the app. We do not receive any information about whether or when you tap any of these buttons.
The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does collect data), we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date above before that feature ships.
